As the Doha Summit opens, the United Nations Development Group calls on all members of the international community to honour their commitments and invest more in sustainable human development and the Millennium Development Goals.

EC, UN launch initiative on migration and development
27 November - Migrant and diaspora groups, NGOs, local authorities, members of the European institutions and UN agencies will gather in Brussels for a "Migration for Development Knowledge Fair" from 1–4 December. UNDP Goodwill Ambassador Maria Sharapova welcomed participants to the Fair.

Latin American ministers discuss social policies in times of crisis
26 November - More than 30 social policy ministers and social authorities from 18 Latin American countries gathered at the United Nations for a two-day meeting to discuss the impact of the current global financial crisis on social policy in the region.
