30 November 2008 - It is with enormous sorrow that I have learned of the death of an Afghan colleague who was a contract worker for UNHCR in Surkh Rod district of Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan. UN Security Council mission arrives in Kabul to assess Afghanistan progress
24 November 2008 – A UN Security Council delegation arrived in Kabul today to assess Afghanistan’s progress in peace and rebuilding, and to underscore the importance of regional cooperation for governance, security, and development. The delegation is being led by Ambassador Giulio Terzi of Italy and includes UN ambassadors and representatives from fourteen other countries.
